Overview

Maps play a huge role for many different users that interact with the application daily. They help identify hauler service areas, important geographic areas for searches, and how we define our regional markets. We are using the same map editing system across the application so if you know how to create or edit a map in one area you should be able to do it in another.

The portions of the application that currently use the map editing tool are:

• Hauler Service Areas
• Geographic Notes
• Markets

All instances of the map editor will come standard with certain functionality:

• Add/remove boundaries by city name, zip code, or county
• Add/remove boundaries by bulk zip codes (comma separated)
• Add/remove boundaries by accessing existing service areas
• Add/remove boundaries by accessing existing geographic notes

You will be able to utilize any combination of the methods above to create new or update existing maps. Next we'll walk through the specifics of how to interact with the map editing tool.
