Alerts are an essential piece of effective sales and quoting. Often times haulers inventory and delivery status will fluctuate throughout the day and the sales and customer service teams need to know about it to perform their jobs.

Older versions of the application had one option for alerts. That was to apply an alert at strictly the hauler level. If the alert only pertained to one of many service areas or products the alert would still be presented to the team.

In newer versions of the application we've changed this to decrease the amount of reading the sales and service teams have to do. We've come up with three different levels of alerts to handle this.

Hauler Alerts

This is the broadest form of an alert. Those familiar with previous versions of the application would know this as creating a new alert and using 'apply to parent' to replicate that alert for all the hauler's service areas. Within the new application no replication is require to apply an alert to an individual hauler. When a sales or customer service team member searches for pricing information, hauler alerts are applied to all dumpster pricing results for this hauler.

Hauler Locations

Currently, haulers that have multiple geographic locations - Waste Mangement for instance - are represented as multiple separate haulers. This means that hauler alerts will only apply to one geographic location at a time instead of all Waste Mangement locations.

Service Area Alerts

Getting a little more specific we have service area alerts. Alerts can be applied to one or many hauler service areas at once. These alerts may come in handy, say, if a hauler is behind in a certain service area or if there is construction that will delay deliveries. When creating these alerts you will be given the option to apply to any single or group of service areas you choose. When a sales or customer service team member searches for pricing information, service area alerts are applied only to pricing results that fall within this service area.

Product Alerts

Our most specific form of alert is the product alert. These are applied to individual products that exist within a hauler's service area. These can be used to note if a hauler is low or out of a specific size. When setting a product alert you'll be able to select from some specific templated responses to cover common occurances. When a sales or custom service team member searches for pricing information, product alerts are applied only to individual dumpster prices within a hauler's service area.
