General Management

The easiest way to view and manage all three levels of alerts is to use the alerts collection page. It will list out all hauler, service area, and product alerts currently live in the application. From this area you'll be able to filter by the different types of alerts, expires times, check back times, and other criteria.

To view the alerts collection just navigate to Alerts in the main navigation of the application. You'll be taken to a page that lists all of the active alerts in the application. You'll immediately see several columns of data that may or may not pertain to an alert. We'll break down that data below:

Column Description
Hauler Name A hauler, service area, or product alert will always be related to a hauler
Service Area Name If an alert is a service area or product alert this will be set to tell you which hauler service area the alert belongs to
Product Name If an alert is a product alert this field will be set to tell you which product (Ex. 10 yard MSW) within the hauler's service area the alert belongs to
Alert Type Displays an icon that related the alert to which type (hauler, service area, product) it is. There is a legend at the top of the page
Created At A timestamp that denotes when the alert was first created
Updated At A timestamp that denotes when the alert was last updated
Expires A timestamp that denotes when the alert is set to expire
Check Back A timestamp that denotes when the alert should be revisted
Created By Which user created this alert

Filtering

You may need to narrow the scope fo the alerts that you are looking for in the system. Luckily, you have the ability to filter the collection of alerts by any of the columns. For example - if you needed see all the alerts that are applied to a specific hauler you could filter by 'Hauler Name' and find that hauler in the narrowed collection. Once you have applied a filter to the collection you can even sort the information in ascending/descending order by clicking on the column title. For example - if we applied the Hauler Name filter we could then sort the names in ascending/descending alphabetical order to make it easier to find a specific hauler. Sorting is especially helpful for finding alerts that will be expiring soon or have recent checkback dates.

Creating an Alert

You will not actually be able to create a new alert from the collection page. Because alerts belong specifically to a hauler and/or their service area, we want for users to make sure they are going to that hauler's correct page to generate new alerts. This is a failsafe to ensure that alerts are being generated for the correct hauler.

Editing or Deleting

If you select any individual alert in the alerts collection you will be taking to an editing page. You'll see an alert form with existing alert information as well as a 'Go to Hauler' button.

The Go To Hauler buttton will do just as it says - it will take you to the specific hauler's page who 'owns' this alert. You can edit the alert from the hauler's page or, if you select Edit you'll be able to edit and update the alert directly on that page. You are also able to Delete individual alerts from this area.
